Shape Properties
The following properties and commands are displayed when a shape—such as an Oval, Rectangle, or Line— is selected in a label template. Properties especially specific to a shape field are displayed on the Home tab and in the Properties pane when a shape is selected in a label template.
Note: A Name, Data Ref, or Input Data Ref can include letters and numbers. Additionally, the following characters are permitted but cannot begin the name: hyphens, underscores, and periods.

Line Color |
The color of the line. You can select a color or enter a hexadecimal RGB color value. Note: Color printing is possible only if supported by the device and device driver. |

Fill Color |
If no field or area is selected, the background color of the label. If a shape is selected, the color inside the line of the shape. This color is displayed on-screen only if Apply Fill is selected when editing this property. For the background color of a label, this color is printed only if both Apply Fill and Print Fill are selected. Note: Color printing is possible only if supported by the device and device driver. |

Print Fill |
Whether the Fill Color is printed. If the Apply Fill check box is cleared, this option is ignored. Note: When printing on color stock, it is recommended that you specify the color of the stock as the Fill Color to approximate the stock color on-screen while designing a label. Because color stock rather than printing provides the background color, you would clear Print Fill in that situation. |

Line Thickness |
The width of the line. The value is dependent on the unit of measure for the label template. |

You can add the following fields to a label template or other object by dragging from the ribbon to the canvas.

You can preview the output of this label template. You must select a device and then run the Design Print command for some options to become active.
