StatusRelease a Print Job

In a stopped or paused device queue, you can use Release to immediately print a specific print job or multiple specific print jobs in the queue. Alternatively, you can add a marker to a device queue to release many sequential print jobs from the beginning of the device queue to a specified point in the queue. Note: To perform this task, a user must have Read and Queue permissions for Device Groups.

To release a specific print job or multiple specific print jobs in a device queue, use the following procedure.

  1. In StatusStatus, click Queues . The Queues Summary page is displayed.
  2. Enter criteria by which to search for a device queue:
    1. Enter text in the Device Name field to search by a full or partial device name, or leave this field blank to search all names.
    2. Select options for the Queue Status, Lock Status, and/or Device Status fields, or leave Any selected.
  3. Click Search . A list of device queues is displayed, filtered by the criteria that you entered.
  4. Click a device name to select the row, and then click Lock.

    Note: If the device queue is locked by another user and you have administrative permissions, see Take Control of a Device Queue.

  5. Click Stop or Pause to stop or pause the device queue.
  6. Double-click a device name, or click a device name to select the row and then click View Details View Details. The Queue Detail page is displayed for the device.
  7. Select the check box in the row or rows of the print job or jobs that you want to immediately print.

    Tip: You can use the Find field to locate a specific job detail in the queue. For more information, see Find a Print Job in a Queue.

  8. In the Job Actions toolbar, click Release .
  9. Click Yes to confirm. The status of the print job or jobs is changed to Released. The print job or jobs will be removed from the device queue when you click Refresh .

    Note: Multiple print jobs that are released at the same time will be processed in the order they are received.
