StatusTake Control of a Device Queue

If you have administrative permissions and a device queue is locked by another user, you may take control of the device queue in order to start, stop, or pause the queue or manage the print jobs in the queue. You can see which user has locked a device queue at the top of the Queue Detail page. To take control of a device queue, use the following procedure.

  1. In StatusStatus, click Queues . The Queues Summary page is displayed.
  2. Enter criteria by which to search for a device queue:
    1. Enter text in the Device Name field to search by a full or partial device name, or leave this field blank to search all names.
    2. Select options for the Queue Status, Lock Status, and/or Device Status fields, or leave Any selected.
  3. Click Search . A list of device queues is displayed, filtered by the criteria that you entered.
  4. To see which user has locked the device queue, double-click a device name, or click a device name to select the row and then click View Details View Details. The Queue Detail page is displayed for the device with a user name in the Lock Status field.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • On the Queue Detail page, click Take Control in the Queue Actions toolbar
    • On the Queues Summary page, click a device name to select the row, and then click Take Control

    The Lock Status field displays your user name.
