SystemManage Remote Site Device Services

By default, devices configured for use with a Remote Site are read-only in Loftware Enterprise SP and are managed by the Loftware Print Agent (LPA) or Remote Print Agent (RPA). If you want to be able to manage and change service settings for Remote Site devices in Loftware Enterprise SP, you can add a system property to make these settings configurable (for more information on device service settings, see Manage Multiple Device Services). This system property minimizes device movement if an LPA is connected to a server other than the one the Remote Site device is running on and allows full control of the device services.

To manage service settings for devices configured for use with a Remote Site do the following:

Note: To perform this task, you must be signed in as the SuperAdmin user. For more information, see Controlling Access to System Settings.

  1. In System System Management, click System Properties.
  2. Click Add Property.
  3. In the Add System Property dialog box, click the Namespace drop-down list and select lpa.
  4. For Key, enter sticky.device.enabled.
  5. For Value, enter true.
  6. Click Save. The new property is displayed in the list of system properties.

You can now change the settings for Remote Site devices in System System Management > Device Service Management, System System Management > Service Management, and in Devices Devices > View > Service Management.
