User Interface: Remote Site Options
The following properties are displayed in Devices
An object in Loftware that represents the location of a remote computer. The Loftware Print Agent must be installed on the remote computer so that it can communicate with the Loftware Application Server and make devices at that location available in Loftware. Each Remote Site can communicate with only one Loftware Application Server..

Loftware Print Agent
The following properties and buttons are displayed under Loftware Print Agent in the Configuration panel for a Remote Site.

Token |
An alphanumeric token that allows a Loftware Application Server to identify a Loftware Print Agent Tip: The Remote Site Administrator requires the token during installation of Loftware Print Agent. |

Remote Computers (Workstations) |
A list of the remote computers If you are using Loftware Enterprise SP 5.2.1 or later and remote computers running LPA 5.2.1.250 or later, remote computers with both active and standby LPAs are displayed. Otherwise, only the remote computer with the active LPA is displayed. If you are using a version of Loftware Enterprise SP earlier than 5.2.1, some properties of remote computers may not be displayed or may be displayed in a different location on screen. Name: The name of the remote computer where Loftware Print Agent is installed. Last Contact: The date and time when the Loftware Print Agent on the remote computer (workstation) most recently made contact with the Loftware Application Server. Status: Whether Loftware Print Agent is active or in standby mode. Node: In a multi-server deployment, the Loftware Application Server to which the Loftware Print Agent on the remote computer (workstation) is connected. Version: The version of Loftware Print Agent software. It is strongly recommended that all remote computers (workstations) associated with a particular Remote Site run the same version of Loftware Print Agent. This version number is independent of the version number of Loftware Enterprise SP. The value is None until the remote computer connects to Loftware Enterprise SP for the first time. Note: This table is displayed only after the Remote Site has been saved for the first time. The values in the table are not configurable here. |

Copy |
Allows you to copy the token so that you can provide it to the Remote Site Administrator, who requires the token during installation of Loftware Print Agent. This feature requires version 5.2.1 or later. |

Allows you to download the Loftware Print Agent installer so that you can provide it to the Remote Site Administrator who will install it on a remote computer. |

Manage Properties |
Allows you to modify Loftware Print Agent properties from Loftware Enterprise SP without needing access to the remote computer. Settings configured here are pushed down to the remote computer. For more information, see User Interface: Loftware Print Agent Properties. This feature requires version 4.6 or later. |

Restart |
Allows you to initiate a restart of Loftware Print Agent on the remote computers that you select. |

Upload Log Files |
If enabled, allows you to upload log files related to Loftware Print Agent for the selected remote computers (workstations) to the Loftware Application Server. To enable, click Manage Properties and set the TracingEnabled property to True. When finished uploading, the log files can be viewed in the default location: Alternatively, if you have installed Loftware Enterprise SP in a distributed services environment you can specify a shared location for the uploaded log files by adding the log.upload.directory property in the lpa namespace in System Example

Upgrade |
Allows you to initiate an upgrade of the Loftware Print Agent software on the remote computers that you select. It is strongly recommended that all LPAs associated with a particular Remote Site use the same version of Loftware Print Agent.
Tip: If you are using Loftware Enterprise SP 5.2.1 or later and your permissions permit, you can use the LPA view in Remote Sites in Status If you have not installed Loftware Print Agent but have installed the Remote Print Agent in Spectrum 4.5.1 or earlier versions, this button is not displayed and you must use the Download button. For more information, see Upgrading Loftware Remote Print. |
