Access ControlUser Properties

The following information is used to describe a Loftware Enterprise SP user and is displayed in Access Control Access Control by selecting a user in the Access Control Tree and clicking Home > Edit in the ribbon.

Auto-provisioned users are indicated with an Auto-Provisioned tag in the Type field in the Properties pane for the user, and with an This is an auto-provisioned user note in the Edit User dialog box. Properties in the Edit User dialog box are read-only for auto-provisioned users, except for the Apply Profile and Default Relative Path Folder properties. The unique ID of the user. The user enters his or her username in the sign on page.

Note: A user Name can include letters and numbers. Additionally, the following characters are permitted but cannot begin or end the name: hyphens, underscores, and periods. The maximum length is 50 characters.

Synchronize

In a multi-site deployment of Loftware Enterprise SP, you can turn synchronization for this object on or off individually. For more information, see Select Objects to Sync.

First Name

The first name of the user.

Email Address

The address to which notifications are sent to the user.

Active

Whether the user has access to Loftware Enterprise SP.

Tip: During the initial configuration of user accounts, you can clear this check box to prevent the users from signing in before their accounts are ready.

Yes/No

This check box is cleared if a user is locked out due to exceeding the number of sign in attempts configured in System System Management > System Administration. To reactivate a user's access, select this check box and click Save.

Local Account

Whether the user account is internal to Loftware Enterprise SP or a domain account. If selected, the user account is not a domain account.

Domain

The name of the network domain on which a user is verified.

This option is available only if Local Account is cleared.

Must Change Password

Whether the user must create a new password the next time he or she signs in.

Password

Enter an initial password for the user.

The password cannot begin or end with a space, hyphen, period, or underscore.

This option is only available during user account creation and only if Local Account is selected.

Change Password

Enter a new password for user and specify whether the user is required to change the password the next time he or she signs in.

The Change Password button is available only after the account is created and only if Local Account is selected.

Apply Profile

Whether to apply a user profile and, if so, which user profile. User profiles allow you to customize what is initially displayed to the user, which device is the default, and default characteristics of new labels. Profiles can be configured in System System Management > Profiles.

Tip: You can apply a profile to a group and allow users who are members of that group and have no assigned profile to inherit the profile. However, a user can only inherit a profile if that user's profile is set to Default.

Only one profile can be applied to a user at a time.

Default Relative Path Folder

The base folder used with a relative path when there is no definitive location.

Path to a folder

This is mostly used in job processing when the process defined in the job uses a relative path.
