Select Objects to Sync
In a multi-site deployment A configuration of a Loftware environment that includes Loftware instances located at different sites within the same WAN. In a multi-site deployment, each Loftware instance acts as either a headquarters or a facility. of Loftware Enterprise SP, you can specify which folders in Loftware Enterprise SP at the headquarters (HQ)
The location of a Loftware Application Server and Loftware Database Server that are associated with facilities. These servers must be associated with a Loftware license for which Usage is set to Production and Multi-Site is set to true. Each HQ can communicate with multiple facilities. By synchronizing, an HQ can replicate objects to facilities and replicate transactional data generated at facilities back to the HQ. site should be replicated to a particular facility
An object in Loftware that represents the location of a Loftware Application Server and Loftware Database Server that are associated with a headquarters (HQ). These servers must be associated with a Loftware license for which Usage is set to Facility and Multi-Site is set to true. Each facility can communicate with only one headquarters. By synchronizing, an HQ can replicate objects to facilities and replicate transactional data generated at facilities back to the HQ. site. You can either begin with a specific facility and configure which folders should be replicated to it, or you can begin with a folder and configure which facilities to replicate it to. For each folder, you can also limit which types of objects are replicated. You can also configure whether a specific object is replicated.
Note: Facilities and other functionality related to multi-site deployment are available only if your Loftware Enterprise SP license has the Multi-Site property enabled. Some options are displayed only if you are signed in to the headquarters site.
Tip: For information about what is synchronized when different types of synchronization are performed, see What Items Are Synchronized.
Select a Folder to Sync with a Facility
To select folders to replicate to a specific facility, perform the following steps for each folder to be replicated:
WARNING: Synchronization of objects is configured at both HQ and facilities. If the folder already exists at a facility and you do not want some existing objects in that folder to be changed or deleted through replication, you must disable replication for those objects at the facility. For more information, see Troubleshoot Multi-Site Deployment.
Note: To perform this task, you must be signed in as the ClientAdmin or SuperAdmin user. For more information, see Controlling Access to System Settings.
- In System
- Navigate to and click the facility for which you want to configure synchronization.
- In the Configuration Sync panel, click Add
.
- In the Select a Folder to Sync dialog box, select the highest level folder that you want to replicate to the facility, and then click OK.
- In the table, ensure that the folder you added is selected, and then click Edit
.
- In the Select Object Types to Sync dialog box, select the types of objects that you want to be replicate to the facility, and then click OK.
- In the Recurse column, select the check box if you want objects in subfolders to be synchronized. Otherwise, clear the check box.
- In the Active column, ensure that the check box is selected to allow synchronization to occur.
- Click Save
.
Select Facilities to Sync with a Folder
To select facilities to sync with a specific folder, perform the following steps for each folder to be replicated:
WARNING: Synchronization of objects is configured at both HQ and facilities. If the folder already exists at a facility and you do not want some existing objects in that folder to be changed or deleted through replication, you must disable replication for those objects at the facility. For more information, see Troubleshoot Multi-Site Deployment.
- In Access Control
- In the ribbon, click Home > Folder Sync.
- In the Folder Sync dialog box, click Add
.
- In the Select a Facility to Sync dialog box, select a facility that you want to replicate the folder to, and then click OK.
- In the table, ensure that the facility you added is selected, and then click Edit
.
- In the Select Object Types to Sync dialog box, select the types of objects that you want to be synchronized with the facility, and then click OK.
- In the Recurse column, select the check box if you want objects in subfolders to be synchronized. Otherwise, clear the check box.
- In the Active column, ensure that the check box is selected to allow synchronization to occur.

Customize Whether to Sync an Object
In general, it is recommended that you manage whether objects are synchronized at the level of a folder, and then limit the types of objects synchronized as needed. However, it is possible to manage synchronization for an individual object separately.
To manage whether an individual object can be synchronized, perform the following steps:
- In Access Control
- In the ribbon, click Home > Edit.
- Configure whether the objected can be synchronized.
- To allow the object to be synchronized, select the Synchronize check box.
- To prevent the object from being synchronized, clear the Synchronize check box.
- Click Save in the dialog box.
- Click Save
for the object.
Note: Even if you have selected the Synchronize check box, the object is synchronized only if you have synchronized the folder in which the object exists.
Sync Cross Reference Tables
When you create a cross reference table, a pair of data services is created for the table – one for READ access and one for UPDATE access. Syncing cross reference tables actually requires syncing these two data services. If a cross reference table is replicated from headquarters to a facility and it does not exist at the facility, it will be created at the facility and populated. If a cross reference table already exists at the facility, only the data that has changed will be synced. Therefore, it is recommended that changes to synced cross reference tables are not made at facility sites and that changes are only made at headquarters.
To replicate a cross reference table from headquarters to a facility, perform the following steps:
- In System
- Navigate to and click the facility for which you want to configure synchronization.
- In the Configuration Sync panel, click Add
.
- In the Select a Folder to Sync dialog box, select the Cross Reference Table App folder, and then click OK.
- In the table, ensure that the Cross Reference Table App folder is selected, and then click Edit
.
- In the Select Object Types to Sync dialog box, select Data Services, and then click OK.
- In the Active column, ensure that the check box is selected to allow synchronization to occur.
- Click Save
.
Next Steps
You can schedule periodic replication of objects from headquarters to a facility, and periodic replication of transactional data used for auditing from the facility to headquarters. Alternatively, you can configure the synchronization for a facility to occur only when started manually. For more information, see Schedule Synchronization for a Facility.
