Updating or changing remote activation

You can update your license at any point during your remote activation. Update or change your remote activation if:

Your remote activation is about to expire.
If you use hybrid deployment of Control Center, you have to update your license before your remote activation expires. 30 days before the expiration, you receive a warning on your screen. You can still use your Control Center instances during this time without no interruptions to your production. You can see your Remote activation expiration in your remote Control Center > Administration > Product Info.

You want to return your unused printer seats .
If you configured more printer seats to your remote Control Center than you need when you created your remote activation, you can update your remote activation. When you update your remote activation, you can give more or less printer seats to your cloud Control Center. See more about counting printer seats for printer seat-based licensing.
To update or change your existing remote activation:

Go to your remote Control Center> Administration > Product info. You can see your License Details here. Click Update license.

The Update Token window opens. Click Download Update token.
The Update token is used for user authentication and software activation. The user gets it from the remote Control Center and uploads it to cloud Control Center.-
If you don't have internet access on your workstation, you can request your activation token by scanning the QR code on your screen with your mobile device instead of clicking Download Update token. After you scan the code, you finish updating your remote activation on your mobile device.

Click the Account details link, or go to Control Center > Administration > Account information.

The Account Information page opens. In the Remote Activations section, click Manage Activations.

Manage Remote Activations window opens. Click Update.

The Update Remote Activation page opens. Upload your Update token (see step 2).

After the update token is successfully uploaded, the Configure Remote Activation section uploads on your screen. You can now reconfigure your printer seats. To continue, click Save.
After you click Save, you can't edit the configuration. To change your configuration after you click save, you have to Updating or changing remote activationIf you update to reconfigure to less printer seats than before, you get a warning. Make sure you are not going over the number of printer seats you have on your license. Read more in Using too many printers. -
After you click Save, the Remote Connection Token section uploads on your screen. Click Remote connection token to download your remote connection token.
The Remote connection token is not the same as Update token (see step 2). User gets the remote connection token from the cloud Control Center and uploads it to remote Control Center to finish updating the remote activation. -
Go back to your remote Control Center. Upload your Remote connection token (see step 8).

After your remote connection token is successfully uploaded, click Continue to finish updating your remote connection.
Your license was successfully updated.
