ODP Client Error_ LPS Server Unable To Locate a Share Point

Description

When attempting to launch the On-Demand Print Client, an error is received stating that the Loftware Print Server (LPS, aka WatchDog-NT Server) could not locate a share point.

Solution

This error may occur if the File Location settings are changed after installing Loftware LabelClosed A label is a design area on the computer screen where a label format is created or edited. Manager and the corresponding UNC paths used by the LPS were not updated accordingly.

  1. Open Windows Explorer to WINNT\llmwdn32.ini, and look for the [Paths] section.
  2. Ensure that these settings are correct and that each path has a share at some point.
  3. Look for the [UNCPaths] section.
  4. Delete the header and all settings in this section; save and close the file.
  5. Stop and restart the LPS; launch the On-Demand Print Client.

The [UNCPaths] section of the ini file is automatically written to match the [Paths] section, which means you should no longer receive an error.

The apply the same steps if you are remapped to the registry:

Windows Registry Editor

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Loftware, Inc.\llmwdn32.ini\UNCPaths]
