How to Print Codabar by Remap

Description

This article discusses Codabar symbology and how to implement it in Loftware.

Background
Codabar is a linear barcode symbology that was developed in 1972 by Pitney Bowes it is designed to be accurately read even when printed on dot-matrix printers for multi-part forms such as FedEx airbills, where variants are still used. Printing Codabar codes using  impact printers allows the creation of a large number of codes with subsequent numbers without having to use digital equipment.
After each printed code, the printer's stamp is mechanically turned to the next number (Codabar symbology. aka NW7; Code 2 of 7).

Current Resolution/Workaround

Currently the Codabar symbology is not available from the dropdown selection box. In order to use the symbology it must be setup as a preference for the printer family that the label will be printed on. It does replace the Code 93 symbology that is offered in the selection box. The screenshot used in this example is for use with Intermec printers.

If Code93 symbology is being used with any existing labels that are printed on Intermec printers, then this workaround will affect those  labels.
