Solution
The Intermec 7422 and Eltron 2642 require 256k or greater of RAM Pronounced ramm, acronym for random access memory, a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly; that is, any byte of memory can be accessed without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is the most common type of memory found in computers. in order to print labels larger than 5". After printing a test and service label (hold down the "FEED" button while powering the printer on), make sure that it lists 2 SRAM before attempting to print a label greater than 5". If it lists 2 SRAM or greater, and you still are having difficulty printing labels greater than 5", try increasing the image buffer:
- Select File > Printers or F6 from Design or one of the Print Modules.
- Highlight the 7422 or 2642 from the list of configured printers and click Printer Setup. In Loftware Versions 7x +, click on Options in the LLM Configuration Grid.
- Increase the Image Buffer by 20k - 30k under Memory Allocation; try test printing again.
Note: Keep in mind that the total memory allocation for formats, graphics, and images cannot be greater than the memory in the printer.
