Loftware Connector Console Won't Start on System Running 64-bit Windows

Description

 When attempting to start the Loftware ConnectorClosed Java-based software that establishes a high-speed connectivity bridge between UNIX-based enterprise applications and the Loftware Print Server (LPS). Console service, the following message is returned:

Windows could not start the Loftware ConnectorClosed See Loftware Connector. Console on the Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 0.

Explanation

This error occurs if you attempt to install the Loftware Connector Console on a 64-bit operating system using a 32 bit version of Java.

Solution

Follow these steps: 

  1. Uninstall the Loftware Connector Console via the Control Panel.
  2. Download and install the 64-bit version of Java JDK 1.6 or higher.
  3. Set the JAVA_HOME variable to the 64 bit installation of the Java JDK.
  4. Install the Loftware Connector Console.
