Arabic Text Is Printing Left To Right
Description
Arabic text is printing left-to-right on the label. The correct word order for Arabic text is right-to-left.
Solution
Windows operating systems require specific files to be installed in order for Arabic, Hebrew, etc, to print the correct word order. Right to Left is the correct word order for these languages. These files are referred to as "Complex Scripts" and are installed differently on each operating system.
Installation instructions for these files are as follows:
Windows XP
- Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Date,Time,Language and Regional Options > Regional Language Options.
- Select the "Language" tab.
- Select "Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages" checkbox.
- Press Apply button. On the next screen press OK.
- User will be prompted for the Windows XP CD.
- Follow the prompts displayed on screen.
Windows 2000
- Go to Start > Settings > Regional Options.
- Select Arabic.
- Press Apply.
- User will be prompted for the Windows 2000 CD.
- Follow the prompts displayed on screen.
Windows NT
- Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional Settings.
- Go to the "Input Locales" tab and press the "Add" button.
- Select "Arabic" and make sure the "Use default properties for this input locale" is checked.
- Press OK.
- User will be prompted for the Windows NT CD.
