Switch Datamax H Series Printers Between Linux and Windows
Description
When a Datamax H series printer is also used by a Linux host through a print daemon, and attempts to connect from a Windows system, it fails.
For example, if you installed a new Avery Printer that is really a Datamax 4208 printer under the hood, when your print request is initiated from a Windows system, nothing comes out of the printer. Printing a test page from a browser interface also fails.
However, you can print to the printer from a Linux host through a print daemon.
Solution
Browse to the printer interface and review the settings. If the printer is set to use alternate control codes, resolve this issue by changing the CONTROL CODES parameter fromAlternate to Standard Codes.
