Description

Language packs add ability to print documents in a wide array of languages.

This article describes installing a language pack to use the Loftwares language wizard with double byte characters.

Reproduce

If you do not have the installation CD or download, you can download the language pack from Microsoft. You can download the entire Multilingual User Interface (MUI) and burn it to a CD or store on a hard disk.

Requirements

Any software, credentials, or system changes that are needed to implement the solution.

How to

1) From the Control Panel,  open the Regional and Language Options.
2) Switch to the Language tab (Windows XP) or Keyboards and Languages tab (Windows 2008 R2),
 

 

3) Click on Install/uninstall languages...
 
 
4) Click on Install display languages. Next, click on the Browse button and select the lp.cab file.
5) Click on Next when the lp.cab file is loaded.

6) Accept the license terms and click Next. The selected language pack is being installed.
 

 


7) Click on Finish and then select the new language to display. Check the "Apply display language to welcome screen and system accounts" check box and click on Change display language button.

 


8) Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

You should now be able to access the double byte characters needed for languages requiring double byte characters.
