ODBC Version 2 Driver Required

Description

When attempting to connect a field on my label to an ODBC data source, I get the following error:

ODBC version 2 driver required

Solution

First, determine if you have Microsoft's dBase driver version 2 (or greater) installed:

  1. Run Start | Programs | Loftware Labeling | Data Sources (ODBC).
  2. Verify that the dBase driver for the data source that you are linking to has the word Microsoft in it's description:
  3. Browse to your system directory [Example: C:/WINNT/system32] and verify that an odbc32.dll file exists, then browse to the Windows directory and rename the odbc.dll to odbc32.old.

  4. If it does NOT exist: Install the correct ODBC driver from the CD that shipped with Loftware.
