Error from ODBC Datasource Data Source Name Not Found
Description
When opening a label in the On Demand Print Client program, I get the following error:

Where Data Source Name is the DSN that the label is pulling information from.
Explanation
This error may occur if the account that the LPS is using to log on to the system as does not have the ability to view the DSN that the label is trying to connect to.
This happens if the DSN was created as a "User" data source while logged on under an account other than the one the LPS logs on as. A User DSN can only be seen by the user that created it.
Solution
To ensure that the LPS can see the DSN, you need to either re-create the DSN while logged on as the LPS user or create the data source as a System DSN, which can be seen by all users who log onto this system. Follow these steps to create a System Data Source:
- Select Start | Programs | Loftware Labeling | Data Sources (ODBC).
- In the User DSN tab, note the name of the data source in question and click Remove.
- Click Yes when asked to confirm removal of the data source and then select the System DSN tab.
- Click the Add button; the Create New Data Source dialog opens.
- Select the appropriate driver from the list and click Finish.
- Enter the Data Source Name in the ODBC Setup screen exactly as it displayed under the User DSN tab.
- Set any remaining options as necessary; click OK; the new data source is displayed on the System DSN tab.
You are now able to open the label without error.
