User Interface: Preferences (Administration)
The following are options that can be included in a user profile in System

Show |
Whether to display the value of a preference to users to whom a profile is applied. This is an administrator option that appears only in user profiles.

Lock |
Whether to allow users to whom a profile is applied to customize a preference. This option can be configured only in user profiles.
Note: Even if Loftware Enterprise SP is configured so that a Designer cannot change a preference that controls what is initially displayed when one signs in, one can still change what is displayed while working in a session of Loftware Enterprise SP. |

Profile Name |
The name of a user profile that can be used to apply a configuration of preferences to multiple users. ![]() The following characters are permitted in the name: letters, numbers, parentheses, square brackets, ampersands, plus signs, commas, semi-colons, and tildes. Additionally, the following characters are permitted but cannot begin or end the name: spaces, double quotation marks, single quotation marks, hyphens, underscores, periods, and grave accents. For letters, the case that you specify is displayed, but case is ignored when Loftware Enterprise SP interprets a name. If you will be installing the Loftware Enterprise SP application on a computer running Windows Server, and transferring data between Loftware Enterprise SP instances, see the "Transferring Data in a Compressed File" section of the Loftware Enterprise SP Data Transfer Guide. |
Display Language |
The language used in the user interface of Loftware Enterprise SP. Options include the following:

Landing Page |
The page that is displayed when users to whom the profile is applied sign in to Loftware Enterprise SP. |
Home Folder |
Folder in Loftware Enterprise SP initially selected and expanded in the tree when opening, saving, or printing. |
Object View |
Whether to display the objects on landing pages in Tile view (default) or List view. |
Initial Label |
The label template, process, or application that is initially loaded when users to whom this profile is applied go to Print |
Default Process |
The process used if users to whom this profile is applied do not select a process when printing a label template from Print |
Reprint Process |
The Reprint process used when users to whom this profile is applied click Reprint in Status |
Change Password |
A button that displays a dialog box allowing a user to whom the profile is applied to change his or her password for Loftware Enterprise SP. |
These preferences control what is initially selected in Label Design

Size |
The default size used when a user to whom this profile is applied produces a label template. |
Width |
The default horizontal span of the label template. The unit of measure is as defined in Units under Design Preferences, or in Label Design |
Height |
The default vertical span of the label template. The unit of measure is as defined in Units under Design Preferences, or in Label Design |
Shape |
The default appearance of the outside edge of the label canvas when creating a new label template. |
Orientation |
Sets the default direction objects are aligned on the label when creating a new label template. |
Document DPI |
The default resolution in dots per inch for objects on the label. |
Font Category |
The default type of font to be used in the label. The following options are available. TrueType® DPL ESC/Label IPL PGL ZPL II Use Label Font Category Note: If Use Label Font Category is selected, the default type of font is whatever type was most recently used by that user when creating a label template or reusable object. |
These preferences control what is initially displayed in Label Design

Whether to initially display the Label View, Form View, or both. If displaying both, they can be arranged side-by-side or stacked vertically. |
Units |
The default unit of measure to be used to position and size objects in label templates. Options include inches, cm, and mm. |
Align to Grid |
Whether to initially force the top left corner of each object to align with the nearest alignment overlay dot or intersection of lines. Whether the grid is used can be configured in Grid. |
Grid |
Whether to initially display an overlay grid to assist Designers with aligning objects. The dots or lines of the grid are not displayed in printed labels or in the forms displayed to Data Providers. The type of grid can be configured in Grid Settings. |
Grid Settings |
The type of alignment overlay. Options include Dot, Line, Dotted Line, and Dashed Line. The dots or lines of the grid are not displayed in printed labels or in the forms displayed to Data Providers. Whether the grid is used can be configured in Grid. |
Design Data |
What data to show in fields when displaying a label template or a reusable object in Label Design
Tip: If the Default Value field or the value from a live data set is empty or contains only a space and that option is selected, then a placeholder value is displayed in the Label View or Form View in Label Design For more information, see Select Data to Display in Label Design. |
Label Font |
Default font to be used in Label View and on printed labels. The available options are restricted by the Font Category selected. |
Label Font Size |
For text in Label View and on printed labels, the default size of text in points. This property may not be used by some fonts. |
Form Font |
Default font to be used in Form View and in forms displayed to Data Providers. |
Form Font Size |
For text in Form View and in forms displayed to Data Providers, the default size of the text in points. This property may not be used by some fonts. |
