SystemSet System Alerts

The System Alert page in System System Management allows you to schedule monitoring for the following system metrics and use the results to diagnose potential system issues. To enable and configure system alerts, do the following.

Note: To perform this task, you must be signed in as the SystemAdmin or SuperAdmin user. For more information, see Controlling Access to System Settings.

  1. Go to System System Management > System Alerts.
  2. In the Configuration pane, select the System Alert check box to turn on the system alerts.
  3. For Output Path, enter the fully qualified path to the location to store the generated results file. If no path is specified, a results file is not generated.

Tip: To preserve previous results files, prevent files from being overwritten by including the timestamp substring %t in the filename.

    Example

    C:\Loftware\Alerts\alert_%t.txt

  4. For Output Level, select the urgency level to include in the results file.
    • Informational: Includes measurements with urgency levels of Informational, Warning, and Alert.
    • Warning: Includes measurements with urgency levels of Warning and Alert.
    • Alert: Includes measurements with an urgency level of Alert only.
  5. For Monitor Interval, specify a time interval to take measurements and generate the results file, or leave the default value of 5 minutes.
