Application DesignOther Block: Add Another Business Rule

In a business rule designed in the ConfiguratorClosed In Application Design, the graphical interface for configuring a business rule by creating component sets, each containing component blocks that are run when a particular trigger event occurs., you can drag an Add Another Business Rule component block into a component set to add a copy of the component blocks from a component set in another business rule. The component blocks are added to the currently-selected component set in the business rule that you are editing. Unlike other types of component blocks, after you insert an Add Another Business Rule component block, it ceases to exist as a component block and is replaced by a copy of the component blocks from the source business rule that you selected.

Tip: If you have upgraded from a version of Loftware Enterprise SP that allowed you to create reusable rules, your existing reusable rules remain in the Reusable Rules folder. You can use an Add Another Business Rule component block to incorporate a component set from an existing reusable rule or any business rule.

Tip: Before you can add a component block to a business rule, you must create a component set by specifying a trigger that controls when component blocks in the component set are run.

Important! Before you drag an Add Another Business Rule component block from the ribbon, select the destination component set in the business rule that you are editing. This is the component set to which the component blocks from the source business rule will be added, regardless of the trigger used by the source component set in the source business rule.

Dialog Box Description

Select Business Rule

Navigate to and select a source business rule from which you want to insert a copy of a component set into the destination business rule that you are editing.

Select a Component Set

If the source business rule that you select includes more than one component set, you are prompted to select the trigger of the source component set you want to copy and insert. It does not matter whether the destination component set uses the same trigger.

Tip: If you want to insert content from more than one component set in the source business rule, you must do so one at a time.

Note: After you add the copy of the component set from the source business rule, any changes made to the source business rule will not be reflected in the copy incorporated into your business rule. Unlike a Run Another Business Rulecomponent block, an Add Another Business Rulecomponent block adds a copy of a portion of the source business rule rather than a reference to it.
