DevicesOptions for Toshiba Devices

If the Family selected is Family Driver and the Model selected is TPCLClosed Tec Printer Command Language, a programming language from Toshiba for communication between a computer and a printer., then the Options tab displays the following options. Some options may not be relevant to some device models.

If the Family selected is Toshiba and a specific model is selected, then only options appropriate to that model are displayed. For more information about drivers and Loftware Enterprise™ SP, see Managing Devices.

Print Direction

When a label is printed, whether the bottom edge of the label or the top edge of the label comes out of the device first.

Bottom First (Default): The bottom edge of the label comes out of the device first.

Top First: The top edge of the label comes out of the device first.

Print Mirror Image

Whether to print labels in their normal orientation or to print a mirror image of each label.

Note: Changing this option flips the label horizontally, but does not alter the Print Direction. The same edge of the label comes out of the device first regardless of how Print Mirror Image is configured.

: Print a label normally.

: Print a mirror image of a label.

Field Transparency

Whether overlapping fields are treated as transparent or solid. Toshiba consoles may refer to this option as Graphics Method.

Note: This option does not affect text fields that are formatted using a native scalable font.

Transparent: Fields are treated as transparent. Where pixels overlap, a logical OR operation allows the darkest of any overlapping pixels to take precedence.

Opaque: Fields are treated as opaque. Where pixels overlap, the pixel on top overwrites those underneath. (Default)

Print Mode

Which sensor use. You should select an option based on the capabilities of the device. Toshiba consoles may refer to this option as Issue Mode.

Batch (Default): The device has a cutter.

Strip: The device has a strip sensor.

Cut Interval

Note: This option is active only if Print Mode is set to Batch and Cutter Mode is set to Use Cut Interval.

0 to 100 printed labels

Default: 0

Backfeed

Whether to backfeed (retract) after each job is printed by the length specified by the Backfeed Length option.

: Disable backfeed.

: Enable backfeed.

Backfeed Length

Length by which to backfeed (retract) a label after printing a job.

Note: This option is active only if Backfeed is selected.

Tip: The Backfeed Fine Adjustment option in the Advanced tab also configures the backfeed length. For more information, see Advanced Options for Toshiba Devices.

30 to 2000 tenths of a millimeter

Default: 30

Text Box Overrun Mode

How Loftware Enterprise SP should respond if the amount of data received for a Text Box field is more than can fit.

Tip: If the Text Box Overrun Mode is specified in the job data, that overrides any mode specified in Label Specific Options in Label Design Label Design, device options in Devices Devices, or system preferences in System System Management. Otherwise, if specified in Label Specific Options, that overrides device options and system preferences, and if specified in device options, that overrides system preferences.

Allow Overrun: The text continues beyond the bottom of the envelope for the field. For a printed label, as much of the text as can fit on the label is printed.

Truncate Data: Text that does not fit is not printed or displayed. The preceding text is printed or displayed.

Truncate Data at Paragraph Break: A paragraph that does not fit is not printed or displayed. The preceding paragraph is printed or displayed.

Fail Print Job on Overrun: Any print job that includes a Text Box field in which the data received does not fit is failed and is not printed or displayed.

Use Global Setting: The value for Text Box Overrun Mode that is set in System System Management is used. (Default)
