Options for Epson Devices

If the Family selected is Family Driver and the Model selected is ESC/Label, then the Options tab displays the following options. Some options may not be relevant to some device models.

If the Family selected is Epson and a specific model is selected, then only options appropriate to that model are displayed. For more information about drivers and Loftware Enterprise™ SP, see Managing Devices.

Label Control

Option	Description	Values
Device Resolution	The resolution capability of the device in Dots Per Inch (dpi). Note: For thermal printers, setting the resolution to something other than what is reported by the device may result in unexpected behavior.	200 300 600 (Default)
Send Label Top	Whether to send the value for Label Top to the device.	: Not sent to device : Sent to device (Default)
Label Top	The distance to vertically shift the entire label template from its current position. Reducing the value moves the print area upward relative to the top of the media. Increasing the value moves the print area downward relative to the media. Note: If you are implementing full bleed printing A technique in which the ink prints to the edges of a label and slightly beyond. If the label is applied to a surface that is the same color as what is printed, this prevents the background color of the label from showing near the edges of the label., this option must be configured so that the print area for the label template extends slightly beyond the top edge of the physical label. You may have to enter a negative value for this option. If you are unable to enter a negative value, you may need to update the firmware for your printer. Label Left	The distance to horizontally shift the entire label template from its current position. Reducing the value entered moves the print area leftward relative to the media. Increasing the value moves the print area rightward relative to the media. Note: If you are implementing full bleed printing A technique in which the ink prints to the edges of a label and slightly beyond. If the label is applied to a surface that is the same color as what is printed, this prevents the background color of the label from showing near the edges of the label., this option must be configured so that the print area for the label template extends slightly beyond the left edge of the physical label. You may have to enter a negative value for this option. If you are unable to enter a negative value, you may need to update the firmware for your printer. Left Gap	The distance from the edge of the label backing to the edge of the physical label.	24 to 2,551 Default: 47
Print Mode	The action the device takes after a label or group of labels has been printed.	Cutter: The web separating the printed label and the next blank label to be printed is extended into the cutter mechanism. The label is cut; the blank label is then retracted into the device so that it can be printed. Tear-off: After printing, the label is advanced so that the web is over the tear bar. The label, with backing attached, can then be torn off manually. (Default) Do Not Send Option: No value for this option is sent to the device. Select this value if you want to configure the option at your device.
Left Margin	The distance from the left edge of the paper so that the print starting point shifts to the right horizontally.	-9999 to 9999 dots Default: 0
Cut Position Adjustment	Cut position adjustment.	-255 to 255 dots Default: 0
Continuous Feed Adjustment	Continuous paper leading edge adjustment.	-9999 to 9999 dots Default: 0
Peel-off Adjustment	Peeler control adjustment.	-9999 to 9999 Default: 0
Pause/Cut	When to cut.	None Interval After Last Label
Pause/Cut Interval	If Interval is selected for Pause/Cut, the number of printed labels between cuts. If the cutter is enabled, and the cut interval is set to 0, then the device cuts the label after the batch.	0 to 9999 printed labels Default: 0
Tear-off	Distance to adjust the rest point of the media after a label is printed, which changes the position at which the label can be torn off or cut. By default, the Tear-off setting is sent to the device.	0 to 120 dots Default: 0
Backfeed	Backfeed (retract) behavior of the device before or after a label is printed.	Default: Backfeed default behavior for the selected Print Mode. (Default) After Print: Causes the device to backfeed (retract) between each label that is printed. Before Print: Causes the device to backfeed (retract) before each label that is printed. Do Not Send Option: No value for this option is sent to the device. Select this value if you want to configure the option at your device.
Paper Feed Adjustment	Fine tune the alignment of the color nozzles.	-99 to 99 Default: 0
Media Hold Pressure	The paper suction strength.	Auto Manual Do Not Send Option: No value for this option is sent to the device. Select this value if you want to configure the option at your device.
Media Hold Pressure Adjustment	If Manual is selected for Media Hold Pressure, the amount to adjust the pressure.	1 to 10 Default: 10
Borderless	Whether to print to the edge of the media. Note: If you are implementing full bleed printing A technique in which the ink prints to the edges of a label and slightly beyond. If the label is applied to a surface that is the same color as what is printed, this prevents the background color of the label from showing near the edges of the label., this option must be selected. For more information, see Configure Full Bleed Printing.	: There is a 35 dot margin. : There is no margin and you can print to the edge of the media. (Default)
Feather Edges	Whether to feather the edges of the printed image. Note: This check box is enabled only if the Borderless Printing check box is selected.	: Edges are not feathered. (Default) : Edges are feathered.
Override Pause Count	Whether to override the Paused Count setting, which is controlled by the Pause/Cut Interval option.	: Do not override the Paused Count. (Default) : Override the Paused Count.
Completion Buzzer	Printing completion buzzer setting.	None After Each Label After Last Label Do Not Send Option: No value for this option is sent to the device. Select this value if you want to configure the option at your device.
Text Box Overrun Mode	How Loftware Enterprise SP should respond if the amount of data received for a Text Box field is more than can fit. Tip: If the Text Box Overrun Mode is specified in the job data, that overrides any mode specified in Label Specific Options in Label Design , device options in Devices , or system preferences in System . Otherwise, if specified in Label Specific Options, that overrides device options and system preferences, and if specified in device options, that overrides system preferences.	Allow Overrun: The text continues beyond the bottom of the envelope for the field. For a printed label, as much of the text as can fit on the label is printed. Truncate Data: Text that does not fit is not printed or displayed. The preceding text is printed or displayed. Truncate Data at Paragraph Break: A paragraph that does not fit is not printed or displayed. The preceding paragraph is printed or displayed. Fail Print Job on Overrun: Any print job that includes a Text Box field in which the data received does not fit is failed and is not printed or displayed. Use Global Setting: The value for Text Box Overrun Mode that is set in System is used. (Default)
