DevicesMedia Options for Epson Devices

If the Family selected is Family Driver and the Model selected is ESC/Label, then the Media tab displays the following options. Some options may not be relevant to some device models.

If the Family selected is Epson and a specific model is selected, then only options appropriate to that model are displayed. For more information about drivers and Loftware Enterprise™ SP, see Managing Devices.

Media Options

Option Description Values

Media Form

Whether the media consists of die-cut labels, continuous label, or continuous paper.

Note: When implementing full bleed printingClosed A technique in which the ink prints to the edges of a label and slightly beyond. If the label is applied to a surface that is the same color as what is printed, this prevents the background color of the label from showing near the edges of the label., you must use label stock with a gap of at least 4mm between labels. For more information, see Configure Full Bleed Printing.

Die Cut: Labels are separated by a gap. (Default)

Continuous Paper: Paper with no separations.

Continuous Label: Labels with no separations.

Coating

What type of media coating to optimize printing for. For more information about the different types of coating, refer to your Epson documentation.

Source

Whether the media is fed into the device from an external source or is on a roll internal to the device.

Internal Roll: The media is on a roll within the device. (Default)

External Feed: The media is fed into the device from an external source when printing occurs.

Shape

Whether the media is fanfold paper or roll paper.

Fanfold Paper: The media is provided in a fanfold stack.

Roll Paper: The media is provided on a roll. (Default)

Edge Detection

Whether the media provides an indicator of where one label ends and the next begins.

Black Mark: The media form is continuous, but a black line or mark on the label stock backing exists between labels.

Gap: A gap, perforation, or separation exists between labels. (Default)

None: The media form is continuous and does not provide an indicator of where one label ends and the next begins.

Print Speed The speed at which the media travels over the print head.

6.0 or 12.0 inches per second (ips)

Default: 6.0

Darkness The darkness relative to the current device setting.

-6 to 4

Default: 0

Flip Label 180 Degrees Whether to print the label rotated 180 degrees.

: Print in normal orientation. (Default)

: Print rotated 180 degrees.

Print Mirror Image of Label Whether to print the mirror image of the label, flipped from left to right.

: Print in normal orientation. (Default)

: Print mirror image.

Print Label as White on Black Whether to print the label with all fields inverted, white text on a black background.

: Print with normal shading. (Default)

: Invert black and white.
