Barcode Wizard Properties
When you design a barcode in the Barcode Wizard, the wizard gathers information from you to incorporate into the barcode. This includes information about the design of the barcode symbol and information about the element strings In the Barcode Wizard, a description of a segment of the barcode data. that are combined to generate the barcode data.
Tip: You can open the Barcode Wizard by clicking in the toolbar while you are editing a label template, layer object, or reusable object. After you close the wizard, you can implement any further changes to the barcode design and data in the Properties and Data Sources panes.
Note: A Name, Data Ref, or Input Data Ref can include letters and numbers. Additionally, the following characters are permitted but cannot begin the name: hyphens, underscores, and periods.
The following properties are displayed together in the Barcode Wizard Summary dialog and in some cases on earlier dialogs of the wizard as noted.

Document |
The full path of the label template or other object containing the barcode field. |
Symbology |
The type of barcode. In the Barcode Wizard, you can edit this value in the Select the Symbology dialog. After you exit the wizard, you can edit this value in the Properties pane when the barcode field is selected. Note: If the symbology that you want to use is not listed, it is not supported by the Barcode Wizard. For information about how to add a barcode without using the Barcode Wizard, see Add a Barcode. |
Field Name |
The identifier of the barcode in the label template or other object. In the Barcode Wizard, you can edit this value in the Select the Element Strings dialog. After you exit the wizard, you can edit this value in the Properties pane when the barcode field is selected. |
HR Field Name |
For a symbology that includes a human readable equivalent of the barcode data, the identifier of the human readable text in the label template or other object. In the Barcode Wizard, this name is automatically generated based on the Field Name. After you exit the wizard, you can edit this value in the Properties pane when the human readable text field is selected. |
Barcode Formula |
The formula for the barcode data. In the Barcode Wizard, this formula is generated based on your selections in the Select the Element Strings dialog. After you exit the wizard, you can edit this formula in the Data Sources pane. |
Human Readable Formula |
For a symbology that includes it, the human readable text equivalent of the barcode data. In the Barcode Wizard, this formula is generated based on your selections in the Select the Element Strings dialog. After you exit the wizard, you can edit this formula in the Data Sources pane. |
