Associate the Control Output with a Field in a Label
If the form containing the control is part of a label template, you can use a Data Entry data source to associate the data provided via the control with a field in the Label view of a label template. Data provided by using the control can be printed on a label. To do so, use this procedure.
- Select View >Data Sources.
- Expand the Data Entry data sources.
- Click and drag the listing for the control onto a Variable Text field or a Barcode field in the Label view.
The Variable Text or Barcode field is now configured to use the control as its source of data. You can confirm this by clicking the Variable Text or Barcode field and noting that in the Properties pane the Data Ref property contains the name of the control.
Important! After you assign a data source to a field, renaming the data source or associated control breaks the connection between the variable field or barcode and the data source. You must complete the association procedure again, or rename the Data Ref property of the variable field or barcode to match the new name of the data source.
