Create a Folder

Note: Roles can only be saved in the root folder.

Add a Folder from Access Control

If you have the necessary permissions, you can add a folder and configure permissions in Access Control Access Control.

  1. In Access Control Access Control, in the Access Control Tree, click the folder under which you want to create the new folder.

Additionally, the following characters are permitted but cannot begin or end the name: spaces, double quotation marks, single quotation marks, hyphens, underscores, periods, and grave accents. Names are limited to 255 characters. If you will be installing the Loftware Enterprise SP application on a computer running Windows Server, and transferring data between Loftware Enterprise SP instances, see the "Transferring Data in a Compressed File" section of the Loftware Enterprise SP Data Transfer Guide.

  5. Enter a Description of the folder.

Note: You cannot change the Version Control setting after you save the folder for the first time.

  7. Click Save.

The new folder is selected in the Access Control Tree and you can now configure permissions for this folder.

You may be able to create folders when you are renaming or saving new label templates, forms, images, layer objects, layouts, reusable objects, field data catalogs, applications, business rules, processes, workflow templates, and data services. To create a folder while saving an object, use the following procedure.

  1. Create a new object or open an existing object.

    Example

In Label Design Label Design, create a new label template or open an existing label template.

  2. Click File > Save As or if you are creating a new object, click File > Save or Save .
  3. In the Save dialog box, click the folder in which you want to create a new folder.
  4. Click Add Folder. The Add Folder dialog box is displayed.
    1. Enter a Folder Name. Folder names are case sensitive.
    2. Enter a Folder Description.
    3. Specify whether Version Control will be turned on for objects saved in the folder.

Note: You cannot change the Version Control setting after you save the folder for the first time.

    4. Click Save.
  5. Enter a name for the object in the Display Name field.
  6. Click OK.

Note: If you need to grant access and permissions to other users, you (or an administrator or user with the ROLE_ADMINISTRATOR role) must use Access Control Access Control to configure permissions to the folder. By default, objects created in the new folder are accessible only to the user creating the folder.
