Access ControlControl Access to a Loftware Application Server

To manage who can view a specific Loftware Application Server and who can manage distributed servicesClosed Core services necessary to support essential Loftware functionality. Additionally, device connections, data services, and integrations also function as services if your Loftware environment is configured to support distributed services. In a Loftware environment with distributed services, multiple Loftware Application Servers are configured to interact as peers within the Loftware environment, all accessing the same Loftware database., use the following procedure to configure default permissions for accessing the Loftware Application Server. Important! In an environment with distributed services, to permit a user to perform administrative tasks related to services you must assign Read and Write permissions for Servers. These permissions must be assigned for each server in Access Control Access Control. Examples of administrative tasks related to services include creating a data service, a device connection, an integration, or a facility. Core services can only be configured by the SuperAdmin or SystemAdmin user.

  1. In Access Control Access Control, click the Loftware Application Server in the Access Control Tree.
  2. Define the permissions in the Default Permissions panel.
    • To grant a permission, click Empty check box (inherited) once to change it to granted Granted.
    • To deny a permission, click Empty check box (inherited) twice to change it to denied Denied.
    • To inherit the default permission from the folder containing this object, clear the check box to change the permission to inherited Empty check box (inherited).

    Tip: You can double-click a row or column header to grant, deny, or clear permissions in that entire row or column.

  3. Configure any exceptions to the default permissions.
    1. In the Group Permissions or User Permissions panel, click Add .
    2. In the Add Group or Add User dialog box, select a group or user, and then click OK.
    3. In the Group Permissions or User Permissions panel, click the group or user name to expand the permissions table for that group or user.
    4. Define the exception's permissions as in step 2.
  4. Click File > Save or Save .
