Cannot sign in with Microsoft account

Problem

When you try to sign in to your Loftware product with your Microsoft account, the Approval required or Request pending window opens.

Your company might have restricted Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) policy and prevented users from authenticating third-party software.

Solution

Microsoft Entra ID admin must grant you permissions to use authentication with Loftware products.

Additional explanations

Guest users can authenticate with:

  • Personal Google account

  • Personal Microsoft account

  • Business Microsoft account

Microsoft Entra ID admin must grant generic minimum OIDC grants to Guest users:

  • OpenID

  • Email

  • Profile

  • Offline_access

Other Microsoft Entra ID settings can also cause problems. For example, you can disable the "user consent" option or the requirement to get manual approval for third-party permission approvals.
