Test printing from Web Designer

In this section, you will make a test label in Web Designer and print it using the Cloud Print Form.

About Web Designer

Web Designer is a web-hosted application you can access from Control Center.

In Web Designer you can:

  • Design labels.

  • Edit existing labels.

  • Preview and print your labels.

To create a new label in Web Designer:

  1. Go to Dashboard, and click the Create new label button.

    If you don't see the Create new label button, you don't have the right Access Role. See more on enabling printing permissions in Printing from Web Designer.

    Control Center prompts you to select your printer. Then, Web Designer opens with a blank design surface.

    To open Web Designer, you have to first reserve your printers. Go to your Printers page and reserve them. See Reserving your printers in Control Center.

    If you don't reserve at least one printer, a warning shows on your screen.

  2. From the Objects panel on the left, select the Text object and put it on your label design. Insert your text in the Source box in the Properties panel on your right.

  3. To test print your label, click the Preview & Print button.

  4. The Cloud Print Form opens. Click Print.

Your test label prints. Compare the formatting on your printed label to the file on your screen to make sure your test print matches.

Quick troubleshooting

If your test print failed or you can't print, try the following:

  • Make sure your printers and computer are online.

  • Make sure the computer you're printing to is connected to Loftware Cloud.Installing and activating desktop Designer

    Your Control Center must be connected to your printers.

  • Check the Printing preferences on the computer you're printing from. Control Center uses printing preferences from your printer drivers.

    If you print labels on printers from multiple computers, Control Center uses printing preferences from your printer drivers.

  • If your label contains no objects, the Preview & Print button is disabled.

You have successfully:

  • Set up your printing environment.

  • Installed and activated desktop Designer.

  • Connected desktop Designer to Control Center.

  • Test printed from your printer driver, desktop Designer and Control Center using Cloud Print Form.

  • Accessed Web Designer.

You can now design your labels with your Web Designer or desktop Designer, store and share labels with other users in Control Center, and print labels.
