Description

The directory where print requests are dropped using the File Interface. Can be located on any network drive. Must use UNC path if the directory is not local.

Adding a Scan Directory

You are required to first create a folder before you can add it as a scan directory using Windows Explorer.

 

Simple systems that do not have high throughput requirements can simply use the default of one scan directory.

Do Not Write Data Directly Scan Directories

It is highly recommended not to write data to a file directly in the WDdrop or other scan directories. Writing to a file in a scan directory could cause your job to become orphaned in the OLEBP directory where the corresponding (.lpj) is missing.

(A) Scan Directory Path

The directory where print requests are dropped using the File Interface. Can be located on any network drive. Must use UNC path if the directory is not local. Both your front-end application and the Loftware Print Server (LPS) must have Read/Write access.

Moved to the WDdrop or other Scan Directories

Data should be written into a file in a non-scan directory and then moved to the WDdrop or other scan directory.

(B) BrowseUsed to locate the scan directory. Recommended to eliminate errors when typing the scan directory path manually. The folder must

Specifies  the file extension the LPS will look/scan for: .pas, .csv, .bch, .xml

FIFO = First In First Out – if checked, files are processed in order they are received.

Legacy Settings

Cmd (Legacy) settings. It is NOT used

(D) ExtensionIdentifies the file format the LPS will accept as a valid print request

(E) Assign Directory
to Device Section

Allows you assigned a dedicated printer to a scan directory. Used if no print number command in print request. Files dropped with this setting on are sent to the assigned printer. Overrides file printer designation.  
(F) Enable Polling SectionLPS remains idle until the OS notifies it the contents of the scanned directory have changed. If enabled, manually sets the Poll interval. (1 second = default). Overrides OS Event File trigger.
