Message

 The following error is received when printing TCP/IP:

socket error, failed to connect to printer. Connection timed out

 Solution

First, verify that communications can be established with the port.To do this, perform the following:

  1. Go to Start | Run | Type in cmd, [or command in 95B/98/ME]; click OK.
  2. Type in the word ping, then a space, then the IP Address of the Port to which you wish to print; press Enter.

If no reply is received, then there is a problem with your direct port device, and Loftware will not be able to communicate with this device in order to print.
This method may also be used to check on the status of any printer or print server with a network connection.
Check with your Network Administrator about this type of a connection problem.
