Problem

Message

While trying to install the Loftware Print Server (LPS) service, a "the Loftware Print Server Installation Error" dialog box appears containing displays with the following error:

 (M4722) There was an error while attempting to change the service configuration!

Explanation

The cause of the above error could be caused by a permission problem.

Solution

  1. Open a Command Prompt window and navigate to the Loftware Labeling directory. 
Type in
  1. Execute the following command:

    WatchDogNT.exe -J

 and then press the <Enter> key

Click "Continue" if the

  1. In the Requirements to install Loftware Print Server dialog box, click Continue if the account that will run the Loftware Print Server Service is already created.

  2. When prompted, enter the Password for the user account listed in the dialog box.

"Ok"
  1. OK.
  2. At the Command Prompt,
type
  1. execute the following command:

    WatchDogNT.exe -security
and press the <Enter> key

After executing the two commands listed above, execute the

  2. Execute Loftware Print Server Setup.exe and run a

  1. This should successfully complete the Loftware Print Server installation.
