Problem

In some environments a network latency can be introduced, resulting in a timing pause between labels when printing to a networked Intermec IPL printer.

Solution

To help the Intermec printer deal with the network latency, you can set the Server's Socket Send Buffer to a value other than the default value of 0. This is accomplished by adding a parameter and value to the LLMWDN32.INI file which allows the printer to compensate for the network latency.

To add this parameter and value, follow these steps:

  1. Exit Design32, if it is currently open.

  2. Navigate to the location of the LLMWDN32.ini file. (Default location = C:\ProgramData\Loftware Inc\Labeling\Config)

  3. Open the LLMWDN32.INI file using a text editor, such as Notepad.
  4. Add the following parameter and value to the [Private] section of the file:
    SockBuffer=32768
  5. Save the file.
  6. Start Design32.

Now when you print over the network, the latency should no longer be an issue and the labels should print without a "pause".
