Description

This article describes how to have a Formula Field print foreign characters as required. In this example the "from" street address should print as "Ernst Hedlundsväg 35" and is not printing as required.

The Formula Field (Ship_from_Street) combines the "from street address" and the "from house number".

The two fields are:

  •  LABEL_HEADER_L_WA_HULABEL_FROM_STREET
  •  LABEL_HEADER_L_WA_HULABEL_FROM_HOUSE_NO.

These two fields are defined on the On Demand Print Form side of the original label.

The Formula field was originally defined with the Font Category of Native Fonts / Font of Scalable / Language Properties Default.  Ship_from_Street printed as Ernst Hedlundsvõg 35.

When redefined with the Font Category of True Type Fonts / Arial Unicode MS / Language Properties Field Override Ship_from_Street printed as Ernst Hedlundsv姀 35.

How to Have a Formula Field Print Foreign Characters as Required

  1. When using file drop with XML files, be sure that the file encoding is UTF-8.
  2. For Ship_from_Street to print as required, the LABEL_HEADER_L_WA_HULABEL_FROM_STREET field must be placed on the design/print side of the label. It must be defined with the Font Category of True Type Fonts / Arial Unicode MS / Language Properties Field Override.
